Help the environment with Trees for cities

by admin

Part of what I want to do with this blog is put out there what wonderful things are going on with the world, that there is some goodness amongst so much negativity.

I stumbled across this organisation when I was wondering what small difference I could make in the world as an individual to help the environment whilst living in a big city.

Trees for cities is an organisation that works to plant more tree’s within an urban environment. This is good news for our smoggy homelands. Trees are important to our species survival as they provide the much-needed oxygen that we need & the breath is the life after all.

There are a number of ways you can get involved as an individual, a family or a company from donating to taking part in actually planting the tree’s. The charity also operates internationally so you know you are helping to improve the air for your global brothers and sisters as well as for future generations.

As a company

Teaming up with tree’s for cities is an excellent way to enhance your companies social responsibilities and leaving a green legacy for the future. With climate change firmly implanted in everyone’s minds, people are waking up to the fact that the survival of nature means the survival of the planet and have had enough of companies polluting our beautiful world.

Marketing with tree’s for cities will engage your consumers and they will know that you are making an effort to become more green.

Environmental offsetting is also a long term approach to minimise your environmental footprint assisting you in achieving your sustainability goals.

Let’s not forget that tree’s for cities offers a unique opportunity for your employee’s who are able to take part in volunteering days promoting a sense of wellbeing and the feeling of making a real difference to play their part in making the world a better place.

As an Individual

Seriously how exciting is it to plant your own tree! You have to check back to the website to see when they have tree planting projects on and then contact them. Getting off the couch for a day or two and doing something positive for the environment will fill you with good vibes.

In addition, you can become a water warrior and help the organisation water young tree’s in their first few years of life. Think how proud you will be as your tree matures.

You can join by yourself, with friends or even make it into a family activity.

Donate

The charity obviously takes donations and a £6 donation will plant one urban tree so if you don’t feel like getting down and dirty with the actual planting then spare a few quid and make a donation.

Its’ worthwhile as the charity also works with schools helping children to learn about the tree’s and has various projects for them to join in with.

What are you waiting for! Go plant a tree!
